THOUGHTS AND REFLECTIONS

FOLLOWING MEN?
Ever since I started going to church until I became a christian and subsequently a labourer in the LORD's vineyard I have never ceased to ponder on the contradiction between the commitment of Christians to CHRIST that we serve, strive to be like and seek to be with in eternity and commitment to our leaders in church. We act in front of our leaders to paint a picture of being born and throw caution to the wind when"no one " is watching forgetting the existence of the omnipresent GOD who is the ultimate rewarder. Do our leaders enjoy this attention
and have continued to impoverish members of the congregation spiritually? or have the flock chosen to remain stunted in growth or eminently stagnant?
As our leaders became endowed spiritually, more knowledgeable in the Word and persevered in the place of prayer, they began to walk with GOD and exploits manifesting as signs, wonders& miracles by the special grace of GOD became their lot with members of the congregation the better for it.The scripture tells us in Mark 16:17-18 that "these signs shall follow THEM that believe".It did not say Pastors that believe. Why have we chosen to doubt and left only our Pastors to believe? In the process they have become stars and superstars that show us the way to go and that we must find wherever they shine. They have become our mentors, role models and examples.Pastor said this,Pastor said that.Pastor did this and Pastor did that. They have become so ingrained in us that a lot us now think that their approval more than that of GOD is what we so desperately need to act and make it in this life and to make it to heaven. The scripture tells us in Heb 12:2 to look unto JESUS. Are we doing that? Why have chosen to become docile, complacent and lazy and become recurring burden(s) to our leaders that we call upon for help when every danger or even pseudo danger calls? Are we so oblivious of Mark 16:17-18?Every child of GOD must wake up and begin to work out his salvation. With salvation, the hunger for CHRIST comes and a true relationship with HIM begins.Power to do exploits comes, and you begin to do the extraordinary. As followers,we must honour our leaders and deeply respect them but do not worship them. If you remain faithful and true to GOD,you can become greater than your Pastor.CHRIST promised us greater works in John 14:12.We must look up to CHRIST and follow HIM who your Pastor is also looking up to and following.Your Pastor no matter how blessed he is has limitations. He cannot always be there for you.He might be out of reach sometimes when you so desperately need him and you might be tempted to seek succour from an unlikely source.Worse still,he can even die. What will become of you then? For our fathers in CHRIST,we must groom our flock to look unto CHRIST and not us.We must teach them the undiluted and sincere Word of GOD and not turn our churches into theatres to entertain the sheep and get them excited on service days only to lose steam a few hours later and be at the mercy of satan. As a good shepherd, you must feed the flock in Word and material needs and not a hireling seeking the goods of the flock.
Me must seek the truth from the Word of GOD to set us free. Until we study to show ourselves according to 2 Tim 2:15 and get GOD's approval and divide the word of truth rightly,we might shamelessly follow men to our detriment and destruction.JESUS did not commit HIMSELF to man(John 2:24-25).Do no such. Please reflect on the above and share your thoughts.GOD bless you.
